I can't believe how fast this is going.  since I wrote last, so much has happened.  After leaving Sorrento we had lots of bus driving and that meant lots of sleeping.  some of Italy is so beautiful and then lots of other areas are quite desolate and just ugly.  What I do notice is how many market gardens there are.  The Italians like their food and that means fresh so not much fresher than your own.  Even if you don't have a garden you can grow pots so lots of beautiful flowers everywhere.  We stopped off at Assisi and that was very interesting to see what St Francis did and the beautiful basilica.  another couple of stops before we arrived in Venice.  Now this is a city that you can't really use words to explain.  We took water taxis down the main canal to enter it and then walked around some before taking Gondolas complete with some music and champagne.  Unforgettable to say the least.  We then went to our hotel on another island and ate the local food there.  Great cooks.
Today was viewing the glass blowers of Murano and then walking around Venice for us.  Just amazing a true melting pot of all languages of the world.  Venice is clean, without smell and busy.  It was a perfect day with the weather and we walked for almost 12 hours.  I just had to buy one or two things.
Tomorrow is off to Verona and onto Milan.
