Day 4 of the tour is coming to a close.  Pompei was just incredible.  To learn how advanced they were then is amazing.  Fast food, sliding doors, sewerage systems, the list goes on and on.  Quite eirie but fascinating.  So glad we had a guide as you watch people trying to follow their maps and the maps are turned upside down and every which way to try and see where they want to go.
Drove down to Sorrento along the Amalfi coast.  I felt like I was in a James Band movie.  Stunning is how I would explain the view.  We started today with a ferry ride over to the Isle of Capri.  It happened to be the 1st May, so everyone alive was there but the day was beautiful.  I had taken a sea sickness pill which stopped the sickness but I struggled to keep awake.  We also got a small ferry around the island, so pretty.  I kept expecting to see whales though.
We have discovered gelati differs throughout Italy but the biscuits and cakes are plentiful and just like we get at Dolci Sapori.
Tonight, the rest of the group have gone out for dinner and dancing but we have decided to stay in as we are feeling a tad fatigued, and don't like the idea of eating huge amounts.  Unlike them, we have at least 3 weeks to go.
Lots more coming.

  2. You're certainly covering a lot of Italy in a short time. Is it a case of your bags outside your door at an early hour, a quick continental breakfast then it's all aboard your coach

  3. Not sure what happened - refused to let me type more. After your day's sightseeing, you arrive at your hotel, allocated your room, quick shower, dress for and have dinner and crash into bed, sleep then start the cycle again next day. Do you have any slow coaches? There's always someone who holds up the coach. You probably don't have much time to write or organise some photos!! No pressure!! Did you get my email or was my effort for nought? You're probably arriving in Venice as I type this. I loved Venice. Hope you do too!!
